“Save it for best.”

This is a phrase of which I am sure I am not the only one to hear in their lifetime.

Whether it be a fancy crystal champagne glass, a designer bag or French lace underwear, this seems to be the ‘go to’ comment of so many.

As I have got older, I have started to wonder:

You might not make it to tomorrow, let alone to this “best” day, imagined by another person. I don’t mean to sound morbid, but what if this “best” day never comes around? Or worse yet, what if this “best” time comes and goes, without you having known in advance that it was to be your “best” occasion?

Today could well be your best day. But today could also be your less-than-best day… in which case, burning the £30 Yankee candle that has been gathering dust under your bed for the past 8 years, may well improve it.

In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter how much something cost? If it makes you happy, then USE IT.

Brave the rat race with your designer handbag, wear the French lace underwear and drink lambrini out of that crystal champagne glass.

Don’t wait for a better today. Make today better.

You flippin’ well deserve it.
